Target Distance

Postby JoshShootsStuff » Mon Nov 11, 2013 4:48 pm

The rules list the minimum target distance at 15 yards, is this true for the pistol range too? I need to practice at 15-25 feet and also want to start other members of my family at a much shorter distance than 15 yards with a 22lr pistol/rifle. Thanks

Yes that is the rule, if you can hit your target at 15 yards you can surely hit it at 15 feet. It is a safety thing .I have never heard of a program that make you start at 15 feet. If you call the Range at 609-562-4676 or stop by we can give you the information or answer any more questions you may have .

Ok, thanks. The reason I was asking was because the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualifications are at 15/30 feet. I also took a class there a couple week ago and I don't think our targets were out farther than 20/25 feet, they certainly weren't at 50 feet. But I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time...

Picture perfect

The clarity of the image is of pressing importance when buying a riflescope. Obviously, you need a scope that is capable of delivering maximum light to the eyepiece, which means a sharper resolution and a clearer aim. A thumb rule in this respect is to choose scopes with larger objective lens, which ensure greater light. Also the lens quality is of utmost importance and the better the lens, the less the distortion. Equally important is lens coating, which cuts down on reflective glare and creates a brighter image. So a multi-coated lens is essential.
